The Deputy Chief Minister and NCP president Mr Ajit Pawar has announced the launch of Maharashtra Rs 1 Crop Insurance Scheme. The insurance under the scheme covers various crops like paddy, jowar, bajra, ragi, maize, tur, moong, urad, soybean, groundnut, sesame, cotton, and onion. With the help of this scheme, the financially unstable farmers of Odisha state can by crop insurance without worrying about financial trouble. As per PMFBY, farmers of non-horticulture crops pay just 2 percent of the premium amount while the rest is picked up by the state and central government in equal amounts.
