The Tamil Nadu state government launched the Tamil Nadu Women Employment and Protection Scheme (WE-SAFE). To help the female students of Tamil Nadu State understand the concept of entrepreneurship from a very young age the Tamil Nadu state government introduced the Tamil Nadu Women Employment and Protection Scheme. Under the scheme, the Tamil Nadu state government will conduct a psychometric test for all female students in Government schools in classes 8th to 12th. With the help of the test female students can understand the concepts of entrepreneurship and can get a clear view of their career.

According to the Government of Tamil Nadu State, a total fund of INR 1185 crores for five years between 2024 and 2029 has been located under the Tamil Nadu Women Employment and Protection Scheme. The Tamil Nadu state government has also taken help from the World Bank to implement the scheme across the state. For the financial year 2024-25, the budget for the scheme is INR 168 crore.
